Wantons concert, Istanbul — backstage technical support and event video edit
Project date: 2023
A one-night Persian rap concert in Istanbul in 2023, held at a club near Taksim. I worked as part of an eight-person team providing backstage technical support during the show.
My responsibilities covered camera media and memory handling, lighting, sound and batteries backstage, editing short Instagram Reels on site during the event, and editing the final event video afterwards — which I have permission to show.
This was team-based technical work. I did not direct the concert or own the production as a whole.
My contribution
- Backstage technical support
- Camera media and memory management
- Lighting support
- Sound support
- Battery and power management
- On-site Instagram Reels editing
- Final event video editing
Approach
A single-night show with no second chance puts the emphasis on continuity backstage: memory cards cycled and tracked, batteries swapped before they became a problem, and lighting and sound supported so nothing interrupted the set.
Reels were cut on site while the event was still running, so short vertical pieces could be published while attention was highest.
The final event video was edited afterwards from the material captured by the team, shaping a full-night recording into a single piece.
Deliverables
- Backstage technical support across the event
- Managed and tracked camera media
- Short vertical Instagram Reels edited on site
- Edited final event video
